Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between short-term rehabilitation and long-term care?

Short-term rehabilitation can help you, or your loved one, regain strength, flexibility and mobility, other skills, and the independence you enjoyed before a recent illness or surgery. Working with clinical and therapy teams to define a personalized recovery plan, residents benefit from regularly scheduled therapies, including physical, occupational, and speech, to achievable recovery goals.

Long-term care residents receive high-quality 24/7 care from trained and compassionate team members committed to providing a consistent, loving, family- like experience. The personalized care plan emphasizes quality of life, dignity and comfort goals. Your loved one will be in control of their days, choosing which services they want and when. Services help meet both the medical and non-medical needs of people who have a chronic illness or disability and who cannot care for themselves for long periods.

  • How do I pay for long-term nursing home care?

We accept private pay from a variety of sources, including pensions, 401K accounts, health savings accounts, the sale of private assets like stocks and bonds, and family contributions. Long-term care insurance also can help cover the cost. We can help you and your loved one t with navigating the Medicaid application process.

  • What insurances do you take for rehabilitation?

We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Independent Health, Univera, United Healthcare, and Aetna insurances.

  • What room options are there?

We offer both private and semi-private rooms.

  • Is there a hairdresser on site?

Yes, we have a salon with a hairdresser on site. Services can be paid for through an easy to use resident trust account that can be set-up with our Business Office.

  • What is the secure Memory Support neighborhood?

Hallways and common spaces contain visual cues, such as wall color and use of framed photographs, to help orient the resident to help provide more memorable 'landmarks'. Memory Support All team members who engage with memory loss residents and their families participate in an advanced training that helps us deliver the right care and support for your loved one, including their unique physical, emotional, social and sensory needs.

  • What is Palliative Care?

Palliative care can provide an extra layer of support and comfort for the resident and their loved ones. Our goal is to help residents optimize their quality of life and improve functioning during or after serious or chronic illness. Our care teams deliver compassionate, personalized care for the whole person - from managing symptoms and side effects from other treatments to pain flare-ups, anxiety, depression, and more. We address symptoms together and define what matters, and is important in the residents and family care plan, manage physical symptoms and help support mental and emotional stress of coping with illness. It is provided along with other curative treatment

  • What can I bring from home to the community?

Making your room feel as home-like as possible is important. Bringing in blankets, pictures, shelves for books and other small items and wall decor can help your room feel more comfortable. Recliners and televisions are welcome as long as they can fit comfortably and safely in your room. We also recommend bringing several pairs of comfortable, loose-fitting clothes, pajamas, non-skid shoes/sneakers, slippers (non- skid, no open-back), five to seven pairs of socks, and some seasonal outerwear such as a sweater and jacket.
